The IS 300h hybrid system is the same family as the Camry and ES hybrids, proven well past 150,000 miles. On an older IS 250 or IS 220d, history and honest condition matter more than the clock.
Generation breakdown
IS 200 to IS 300h, and what each is worth.
First generation (XE10, 1999 to 2005)
The rear-drive IS 200 with a 2.0 straight-six, the IS 300 with a 3.0, and the IS 300 SportCross estate. Manual or automatic. An older car now, and we still buy clean examples.
Second generation (XE20, 2005 to 2013)
IS 250 with a 2.5 V6 petrol, IS 220d with a 2.2 diesel, and from 2010 the IS 200d. The IS F, a 5.0 V8, sat above them. The IS 250C convertible arrived in 2009.
Third generation (XE30, 2013 to 2020)
The IS 300h: a 2.5 petrol self-charging hybrid, rear-wheel drive, the version most UK buyers chose. A turbocharged IS 200t, later badged IS 300, was sold alongside it. Facelifted in 2016. No longer sold new in the UK.

How much do you actually pay for a Lexus IS?+

Does the IS 300h need plugging in?+
No. The IS 300h is a 2.5 petrol self-charging hybrid with nothing to plug in. Tell us the trim and mileage and it is priced as the car it is.

How quickly will I hear back after I submit my reg?+
A valuer who knows Toyotas reads your submission and replies with a firm offer within 2 hours in opening hours. We do not run an instant quote tool: one Lexus IS with a full service history and another with a warning light on the dash are different cars, and only a person can tell them apart from your reg and your notes.
How long does the offer stand?+
For at least 72 hours, with the expiry date written on the offer so there is nothing to work out. Let it lapse and we simply price the Toyota again on that day's trade figures.
Do you collect, and does collection cost anything?+
Anywhere in the UK, at a time you pick, and collection is free when your offer includes it. If you are near Bethnal Green and would rather drive it to the office, bring it in and the handover happens there.
When and how do I get paid?+
Paid in full by bank transfer before your vehicle leaves. The Toyota is checked against what you told us, you accept, and the full amount is sent before anyone drives it away. Nothing is deducted for admin or anything else. The price holds if the vehicle is as described. Any change is explained first, and you can say no.
What do I need to have ready on the day?+
Your V5C logbook, in your name, plus photo ID, every key you have and your UK bank details. If the Toyota has a service book or Hybrid Health Check paperwork, have it to hand, and a finance settlement letter if money is still owing.
