Gen + spec
Gen 2, Gen 3 and Gen 4 all welcome. Plug-in versions priced separately for the bigger battery. Hybrid battery health matters more than mileage.
Toyota Prius specialist
Gen 2 to Gen 5 Prius, any age or mileage. High mileage is normal and we price it properly. Offer in two hours, paid the same day.

The short answer
Generation and spec set the baseline. Gen 2 through Gen 5 are all bought, and the plug-in versions price separately for their bigger battery, but hybrid battery health matters more than mileage every time. A full service history and a current MOT lift the offer; we buy any condition, drivable or not. Emissions feed in: most Gen 3 and all Gen 4 are clean-air-zone friendly, while older Gen 2s still hold export demand we price for. High mileage is fine, 200,000 is normal for a well-kept Prius, because the hybrid battery lasts the life of the car when treated well and service history counts for more than the clock. A real valuer checks your reg by hand and sends a firm offer within 2 hours, free UK collection, same-day bank transfer, no buyer fees.
What we look for
Gen 2, Gen 3 and Gen 4 all welcome. Plug-in versions priced separately for the bigger battery. Hybrid battery health matters more than mileage.
A full service history and a current MOT lift the offer. We buy any condition, drivable or not, and price it honestly either way.
Most Gen 3 and all Gen 4 Prius are low-emission and clean-air-zone friendly. Generalists discount older cars; we don't.
200,000 miles is normal for a well-kept Prius. The hybrid battery lasts the life of the car if treated well, and service history matters more than mileage.
Generation breakdown
The first widely-adopted Prius. NiMH battery, 1.5L petrol hybrid drivetrain. Euro 4, so not clean-air-zone compliant in central London, but strong continental-export demand keeps prices honest.
Typical condition: 180,000-280,000 miles. Clean examples increasingly rare.
The hybrid workhorse. 1.8L petrol hybrid, NiMH (or rare Li-ion), Euro 5 then Euro 6 from 2013. Best-balanced economy + reliability of the four generations. The Gen 3 hybrid battery is famously durable.
Typical condition: 150,000-240,000 miles. Plenty of good used stock.
Lithium-ion battery option (still NiMH on most), redesigned chassis, Euro 6, clean-air-zone compliant from day one. Plug-in hybrid variant with 30-mile EV-only range arrived 2017, priced as a separate trim because of running-cost economics.
Typical condition: 100,000-200,000 miles. The most common used Prius today.
The current Prius, only available as a plug-in hybrid in the UK, no straight hybrid trim. Larger battery, redesigned cabin, premium positioning. Limited used supply so far because of the higher entry price; resale strong because of scarcity.
Typical condition: under 50,000 miles. Nearly-new stock.
Common questions
We're a specialist Toyota buyer, so we sell into the active trade network rather than the constrained UK-domestic-resale channel that generalist instant-quote sites use. The final number depends on Gen, mileage, condition and current trade demand. Submit your reg for a firm 2-hour offer that holds for 72 hours.
Yes. Most Prius we buy are 150,000-220,000 miles. Hybrid batteries on Gen 3 + Gen 4 typically last the life of the vehicle. Algorithmic buyers cap at 100,000 miles; we don't, service history matters more.
Plug-in Prius (Gen 4 and Gen 5) carry separate value because of the larger battery. We price the plug-in variant explicitly, so make sure to declare it in the valuation flow and the offer reflects it.
Positively. A documented battery replacement (especially Toyota OEM) extends the saleable life by 5+ years and we account for it in the offer. Independent rebuilds also valued, bring the receipts on collection day.
