Second generation (2003 to 2009): RX 300, RX 350 and RX 400h
The first RX sold widely in the UK, as a petrol RX 300 then RX 350, and from 2005 the RX 400h: the first hybrid SUV on sale, with a 3.3 V6 and electric drive to both axles.
Third generation (AL10, 2009 to 2015): RX 450h
Hybrid-only in the UK. A 3.5 V6 self-charging hybrid with all-wheel drive and a nickel-metal hydride battery. Facelifted in 2012 with the spindle grille.
Fourth generation (AL20, 2015 to 2022): RX 450h and RX L
Sharper styling, the same 3.5 V6 hybrid. The long-wheelbase, seven-seat RX L arrived in 2018. Facelifted in 2019 with a new touchscreen and updated safety assistance.
Fifth generation (AL30, 2022 on): RX 350h, RX 450h+ and RX 500h
All-new on the platform shared with the NX. RX 350h is the 2.5 four-cylinder self-charging hybrid, RX 450h+ the plug-in with an 18.1 kWh battery, and RX 500h the 2.4 turbo performance hybrid with DIRECT4 all-wheel drive. No V6 any more, and no seven-seat version.
