Selling a car from an estate

Selling a Toyota for someone who has died. No rush.

If you are an executor, or family helping with the estate, we can buy the car when you are ready. A real person talks you through it, and we handle the paperwork.

Take your time

There is no rush.

Nothing has to happen quickly. Ask for an offer when it suits you, and there is no obligation to accept it.

One person to talk to

Call, WhatsApp or email and a real person answers. Tell us as much or as little as you want.

Any Toyota or Lexus

Any age, mileage or condition, including a car that has been standing for a while or has no MOT.

What to have ready

What to have ready

None of this is needed to ask for an offer. It is needed before the car is collected.

  • The V5C logbook, if you have it. If it cannot be found, tell us and we will talk you through it.
  • The death certificate.
  • The grant of probate or letters of administration, if they have been issued.
  • Photo ID for the person selling, such as a driving licence or passport.
  • Finance details, if there is a loan or agreement on the car, so the lender can be settled.

If you are unsure, check with the solicitor handling the estate.

Collection and payment

Collection and payment

  • Paid in full by bank transfer before your vehicle leaves. The money goes to the account the executor names.
  • Outstanding finance is settled with the lender, and any balance goes to the account the executor names.
  • We handle the DVLA paperwork.
  • The price holds if the vehicle is as described. Any change is explained first, and you can say no.

Every dealer who buys through us agrees to our dealer code of conduct. More on the steps in how it works.
